Discover Westport, MA: A Peaceful Coastal Escape
If you’ve ever wondered what makes Westport, MA such a special place, let me give you a little insider scoop. Whether you’re planning a day trip or thinking about making a move, Westport is truly a hidden gem on the South Coast. It offers everything you’d expect from more touristy spots like Cape Cod or Nantucket—minus the crowds and commercialization.
There are a few different areas within Westport. North Westport is closer to Route 6, so you’ll find more commercial options up there—think Target, Stop & Shop, Walmart. But head south and things start to feel a bit more peaceful and historic. One of my favorite spots is Westport Point. It’s a gorgeous little strip filled with historic white homes that are protected by the local Historical Society. Drive all the way to the tip and you’ll find working fishing boats, a charming waterfront restaurant, and some seriously stunning views.
Westport is the kind of place where people come to slow down and reconnect with nature. If you're into biking, running, swimming, sailing, kayaking—or even just relaxing in peace and quiet—you’ll feel right at home here. It’s remote, a little off the beaten path, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.
Love fresh, local food? You’re in luck. Westport is full of family-owned farms, roadside stands, and a weekly farmers market where you can find everything from organic produce to fresh-baked bread and locally raised meats. If supporting local businesses and eating well is your thing, Westport will make your heart happy.
And let’s not forget the restaurants. If you’re a foodie like me, there are a few must-try spots. The Back Eddy is a Westport staple—it’s right on the water with incredible harbor views, fresh oysters, and amazing sunsets. For a more laid-back, family-friendly vibe, check out Bayside Restaurant. They’ve got something for everyone and a great outdoor patio. Other honorable mentions? Bittersweet Farm for cozy tavern vibes, and Ten Cousins on Main Road for seriously good pizza.
Wine and beer lovers, you’re covered too. Westport Rivers Vineyard and Buzzards Bay Brewing (owned by the same family) both offer amazing views and great drinks. In the summer, Westport Rivers even hosts a Friday night concert series—bring a blanket, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy live music with the whole family.
At the end of the day, Westport is all about being outdoors and living a healthy, active lifestyle. It’s not flashy, but that’s the point. It’s peaceful, welcoming, and full of little treasures—just waiting for you to discover them.

Living in South Dartmouth & Padanaram Village
Most people have never heard of Padanaram Village, and honestly, that's part of what makes it so special. Why we kept coming back to South Dartmouth I was born and raised in Dartmouth, and surprisingly, my husband John was too. We met in first grade at Cushman School and spent our entire childhoods

Where to Look for Homes in Dartmouth, MA
If you have started looking for a home in Dartmouth, you have probably already opened three or four real estate sites and noticed something. A lot of the same houses keep showing up. That is not a coincidence, and once you understand why, it changes how you decide where to actually spend your time.

Padanaram Harbor Just Reminded Us Why It Keeps Winning
A full double rainbow set down over Padanaram Harbor last night. It came in right after a passing shower, the kind we get a lot of in late May, and it arced clean across the water from the marina side all the way over toward the bridge. Both bands showed. If you have spent any real time in Padanara
